MBL Goes Digital: A New Home for Malaysian Basketball Fans

Malaysian basketball has a new home. The Major Basketball League has launched its all-in-one digital platform at majorleague.com.my, bringing live games, near-live clips and fan interaction into a single destination.

One platform, all of Malaysian basketball

The new website and OTT platform gives fans exclusive live and on-demand content from across the MBL ecosystem: the U-20 and U-23 Development Leagues and the MBL Professional League. That means full matches, near-live action clips, highlights and behind-the-scenes interviews, all in one place.

But this is more than a streaming service. The platform is built to keep fans engaged between matches too, with live two-way video talk shows, real-time fan polls, games and quizzes. In the future, MBL teams, players and authorised content creators will be able to launch their own channels on the platform and build their own followings, turning the MBL's digital home into a true community.

Freemium access, one simple price

The platform runs on a freemium model. A generous layer of content is free for everyone, while live games sit behind a paywall. For just RM 15 per month, fans unlock everything: every live game, every clip, and full access to the MBL's engagement features.

"We are thrilled to launch our new platform and bring Malaysian basketball fans closer to the action they crave," said Mr. Haniff, Executive Manager of the MBL. "This platform is a game-changer for those who want to experience the passion and excitement of the sport without missing a single shot wherever they are."

Built by Emerce

The MBL's platform is built on Emerce, the award-winning platform behind digital fan ecosystems for leagues and broadcasters across Asia. It combines OTT streaming, social engagement, gamification and eCommerce in a single white-label stack, giving the MBL full ownership of its fan relationships and data.

"We are incredibly proud to partner with the MBL on this project," said James White, CPO at Emerce. "Our team has extensive experience creating engaging digital experiences for sports fans around the world, and we are confident that the MBL's new platform will be a resounding success in Malaysia."

What's next

The website and OTT platform is the first step in a larger roadmap. A dedicated MBL mobile app is already in development and launching soon, giving fans even more ways to stay close to the game.
